Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service and greeting customers at the point of sale. You will assist shoppers with self-checkout, handle inquiries, and maintain a clean, organized front end area to support efficient operations.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, the ability to follow procedures, and teamwork with store staff to meet Food Lion standards and ensure a positive shopping experience for all customers.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including the scanning of all items and the accurate scanning of each item.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed to service customers per service standards.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform, complete with name badge, when on duty, have a neat and clean appearance.
• Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and standard practices.
