Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in Ashburn, VA to protect clients across tech/media locations. You will conduct unarmed patrols, provide customer service, and report security-related activity using our site technologies.

The role offers a flexible schedule (DayTime shifts Wed 08:00-16:00 and Fri 08:00-16:00) with a pay rate of $22.44 per hour. A guard card or license and CPR certification are preferred, with a requirement to pass background checks and a drug screen.

Qualifications

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and guests at a technology and media location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and report relevant information according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and support visitor and contractor entry procedures in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain a professional presence while helping to deter unauthorized access and supporting a positive environment for personnel and visitors.
