Job summary

MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center is seeking a part-time security professional to patrol the campus and surrounding grounds, deter threats, and respond to incidents. You will document actions, coordinate with teams, and enforce safety policies to protect patients, staff, and visitors.

The role requires a valid Iowa driver's license, the ability to handle stressful situations calmly, and adherence to confidentiality and regulatory standards. Training in NVCI is required within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School or Equivalent (GED); prior experience preferred.
• Valid IA driver's license and acceptable MVR.
• Mandatory Reporter; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training within 6 months of hire.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of department software.
• Maintains confidentiality of information.
• Background check required; no serious felonies.

Responsibilities

• Patrols Waterloo Medical Center campus and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
• Responds to and resolves problems; documents actions.
• Coordinates safety efforts and adheres to safety policies.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable laws and MercyOne policies.
