Job summary

MercyOne Health System in the Quad Cities region is seeking a Security Officer to provide a visible presence for prevention and/or detection of conditions that could place patients, visitors, staff and assets at risk. The position works the night shift (weekends and holidays as required).

A valid driver’s license, Basic Life Support and CPI within 60 days are required, and coursework in law enforcement or criminal justice is preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Basic Life Support and CPI within 60 days.
• Law enforcement or criminal justice coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a physical presence to prevent or detect conditions threatening safety.
• Protect welfare of patients, visitors, staff and facility assets.
• Interact with a variety of people, often under stressful circumstances.
