Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Indianapolis, IN. This role offers reliable hours with a fixed shift and the option to pick up additional shifts, helping you earn more while gaining hands-on experience.

You will perform screening procedures, monitor access, respond to incidents, and provide great customer service to clients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site‑specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Screen employees, visitors, packages, and other items entering designated areas using approved screening equipment and procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, shipping documentation, and authorization for entry into controlled areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, loading zones, business operations, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
