Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced in Birmingham, AL. The role offers flexible, anchor shifts with opportunities to pick up extra shifts and grow toward full-time security careers within a leading national facility services company.

Pay rate is $19.00 per hour with fixed shifts and a schedule that may include additional shifts via the Earn More program, designed for stable income and hands-on experience across sites.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facility interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Assist with access control, visitor management, and/or directions while maintaining a professional, compassionate presence in a healthcare setting.
