Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Reading, PA to provide reliable, customer-focused security services at a designated site. This role offers fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $17.55 per hour, with a six-month anchor shift commitment and potential to scale toward a fuller schedule. Background checks and licensing may apply per state laws.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of security experience.
• Proficient with computers or tablets; able to learn new software.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following security procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations calmly and according to campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazardous conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with campus representatives, law enforcement, and emergency responders as needed.
