Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Screening Operations in Norfolk, VA. The role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up extra shifts to increase earnings, providing up to 40 hours per week where possible.

The position emphasizes customer service, screening procedures, and incident response. A TSA TWIC and a high school diploma are required, with background and drug screening as standard checks.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• TSA-issued TWIC is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Criminal histories may be considered in accordance with laws.
• Drug screening required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may apply by location.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests, crew members, and visitors by carrying out screening procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen passengers, visitors, baggage, packages, and other items entering designated cruise terminal or vessel access areas.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, boarding documentation, and authorization for entry to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, terminal spaces, access points, and surrounding perimeter locations.
