Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time TWIC Screener in Norfolk, VA. The role offers fixed shifts with opportunities to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform, designed to provide reliable hours and opportunities to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $19.00 per hour. The position supports a flexible, part‑time schedule with potential for up to 40 hours per week and a path toward full‑time work as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• A TSA‑issued TWIC is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X‑ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and crew by carrying out screening procedures at cruise terminal and vessel access points.
• Screen passengers, baggage, supplies, and other items using screening equipment; report prohibited or suspicious items.
• Verify identification, boarding credentials, and access for individuals entering restricted areas; deter unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner following reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned terminal, gangway, access control, and perimeter areas.
