Job summary

Allied Universal® in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to provide outstanding customer service, screen individuals and belongings, and maintain secure access at a distribution location.

Role includes monitoring access, ensuring documentation compliance, and responding to incidents with professional escalation. Must meet age and education requirements and pass background and drug screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals, packages, and vehicles entering or leaving the distribution location in accordance with established screening procedures.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and shipping-related documentation, and report unusual activity or policy concerns to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
