Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Detroit, MI to monitor facilities, assist visitors, and enforce site policies. You will perform routine patrols, manage access control, respond to incidents, and maintain clear, professional communication with staff and leadership.

This role offers a flexible schedule through our Claim a Shift platform, a team‑oriented environment, and opportunities for training and growth within a nationwide security leader.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required under federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors and utility staff per procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations calmly with proper escalation.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and maintain logs and documentation.
• Communicate clearly with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
