Job summary

Allied Universal® in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Access Verification to protect clients across multiple industries. In this role you will manage site-specific access control, verify credentials, and respond to incidents with calm, professional judgment.

You will build a flexible schedule, gain hands-on security experience, and access our shift-claiming platform to pick up additional hours.

Qualifications

1 year of security-related experience or more.
TWIC issued by TSA is required or preferred.
Access control and badge handling experience is preferred.
Guard card or license is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Background check and drug screening as condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, contractors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific access control procedures and policies.
Monitor and control access at gates, entry points, and restricted areas by verifying credentials, authorizations, delivery appointments, and vehicle information.
Maintain accurate access logs and documentation for incoming and outgoing vehicles, visitors, contractors, and deliveries.
Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate observations to appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, loading areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized access.
