Job summary

The Learning Lamp is hiring a part-time Staff Substitute to support our School District Staffing Programs in the Somerset County area. You will collaborate with the Scheduling Specialist and Ignite team to cover absences in the Paraprofessional Department, with hours Monday through Friday during school hours.

Pay ranges from $11.50 to $14.94 per hour, and part-time benefits include PTO, longevity bonuses, 403(b) retirement, discount programs, tuition discounts, pet and dental insurance.

Qualifications

• Appropriate clearances: PA State Criminal History Record, Child Abuse Report, FBI Criminal History (PDE and DHS), NSOR Clearance and Mandated Reporter Trainings
• First Aid – CPR Certification
• Act 71 Suicide Prevention Training required
• Trainings as required by PA Department of Human Services, Department of Education, PKC, and/or The Learning Lamp and Ignite Education Solutions
• Clearances, trainings, physicals, and certifications must be kept current

Responsibilities

• Child Supervision: assist students with physical disabilities, help with personal care and daily activities, supervise during lunch, bus, gym, field trips and playground duty
• Classroom Management: assist with records, inventory, and maintaining a neat classroom; help manage student behavior; coordinate with teachers
• Instruction: present subject matter, tutor students individually or in groups, develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises in line with teacher guidance
