Job summary

The Learning Lamp seeks a part-time Staff Substitute to support preschool programs across Bedford, Everett, and Claysburg-Kimmel School Districts. You will collaborate with the Scheduling and Staffing Coordinator to cover absences in the Early Learning Department and care for a group of children as part of a teaching team.

Qualifications

• Having 30 credits in early childhood education or related field is a common requirement.
• Multiple pathways are listed to qualify for the role based on education/experience.
• Regulatory knowledge and compliance with PA rules are noted expectations.

Responsibilities

• Classroom management and creating a conducive learning environment.
• Supervise children and coordinate with assistants and aides.
• Adhere to policies, child safety, and state regulations in PDE licensed programs.
• Follow all DHS, PKC, STARS and PDE requirements during in-location work.

Skills

High School Diploma or GED

30 college credits in ECE/child dev

600 hours of secondary training

1 year of experience with children

2 years of experience with children

Education

High School Diploma or GED + 30 credits in ECE

High School Diploma or GED + 600 hours of training (CCP/CDA)

High School Diploma or GED + 15 credits in ECE + 1 year experience

Post-secondary CCP or CDA program completion

Bachelor’s or Associate degree in ECE or related field + experience
