Job summary

Mt. Ararat Middle School, part of MSAD 75, is seeking a part-time Cook to join our school cafeteria team in Topsham, Maine. The position includes food preparation, serving students and staff, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and inventory.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a Maine CHRC background check. The pay rate ranges from $22.61 to $23.29 per hour, with opportunities to contribute to a supportive school community

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or HiSET required.
• Interpersonal skills; friendly and helpful manner.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the position.
• Valid State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization.
• Lifting/Carrying up to 40 pounds; various physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food and serve to students, staff, and visitors.
• Operate cash register.
• Notify the Food Service Director of supplies to be ordered.
• Clean and maintain kitchen and equipment; manage storage areas.
• Submit daily production and other required reports.
