Job summary

Vallivue School District in Idaho is seeking a part-time Nutrition Services Supervisor to coordinate the school kitchen and cafeteria operations. You will prepare nutritious meals, maintain safety standards, and ensure on-time service in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, prior cafeteria food service experience, and the ability to supervise staff, manage inventories, and communicate effectively with students, staff, and the school nurse

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum experience in cafeteria food service as determined by the Board.
• Knowledge of food management, nutrition, sanitation, and applicable laws and policies.
• Ability to plan work, supervise others, and perform simple bookkeeping and inventory.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the day, lift heavy items, and handle hot pans.
• Confidentiality and professional discretion.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication with students, staff, and others.

Responsibilities

• Kitchen and Food Operations: Prepare daily school meals on time according to menus and standards; maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Prepare food according to recipes and ensure quality in appearance and flavor.
• Consult with the school nurse on dietary needs and allergies; manage storage and temperatures.
• Determine quantities and serving sizes to meet age requirements; use all kitchen equipment safely.
• Assist in serving food; maintain sanitary conditions with custodians.
• Oversee inventory, record usage, and secure food and supplies.
• Report faulty food and issues; coordinate with buildings principals.
• Prepare reports; communicate with supervisor and principal; pursue professional growth.
• Represent the district positively and follow district policies; perform other duties.
