Job summary

Whetstone Academy, LLC in Oregon is seeking a Part Time Cook to prepare and serve balanced meals for middle school students and staff, following menu guidelines and accommodating dietary needs.

You will work with the Kitchen Manager on menus, maintain food safety and sanitation per DHEC, and keep a clean, well-organized kitchen and dining areas.

This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina for busy shifts, and the ability to adapt to events and special diets.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to DHEC Retail Food Establishment guidelines.
• Prepare meals according to the menu.
• Properly store food supplies, cookware, and sharps per DHEC regulations and WA standards and policies.
• Prepare meals while adhering/considering dietary restrictions, preferences of individuals, and special occasions (such as birthdays, seminars and/or visitors).
• Track usage and coordinate with the Kitchen Manager for upcoming menus and inventory needs.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen facilities, including dining and bathrooms per DHEC regulations and WA standards and policies.
• Notify supervisor of emergent appliance or or facility needs as they arise.
