Job summary

Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation is hiring a part-time Assistant Cook for the United Community Centers Early Learning Center Program in New York. The role involves preparing and serving meals, following USDA/CACFP guidelines, and maintaining a sanitary kitchen.

Hourly pay is $18 with 12–14 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The position requires food handling certification, DOE/DOHMH fingerprinting background checks, and ability to read menus and work with children and staff.

Qualifications

• Must possess Food Handling and Protection certifications.
• Experience in food preparation, large quantities, dishwashing, and housekeeping.
• Ability to read and follow written menus and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve food according to USDA, CACFP, DOH guidelines.
• Follow weekly menus and adapt with substitutions as needed.
• Allocate portions for children according to regulations and needs.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen; wash dishes and keep storeroom clean.
