Job summary

The Learning Experience in New York is seeking a part-time Preschool Cook to join our team and serve as an ambassador of happiness.

You will plan, prepare, and cook nutritious meals for preschool children, manage allergies with daily communications to teachers, and uphold food safety standards while supporting center operations and inventory. This role emphasizes teamwork with Center Leadership and a flexible schedule to meet daily childcare needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 months experience in food preparation and cooking.
• Food handling certificate or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook healthy meals for preschool children.
• Maintain and track food allergies for each child and communicate to teachers daily.
• Follow food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures.
• Collaborate with Center Leadership to purchase food and manage inventory.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude to parents and children.
• Be flexible and adaptable to daily childcare center needs.
