Job summary

Children's Aid Society is seeking a part-time Cook & Facilities Support to help run daily food service operations within our Early Childhood program in New York City. Responsibilities include preparing meals and snacks, safe storage, and maintaining sanitary kitchens in compliance with CACFP, DOE, DOHMH, and Children's Aid standards.

Reporting to the Program Director with support from the Food Service Manager and Central Facilities team, you will also assist with custodial tasks and ensure

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid NYS Department of Health Food Handler's License required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in food service, custodial services, facilities support, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and safely store DOE-delivered meals.
• Prepare daily snacks from scratch following approved menus, recipes, and nutritional guidelines.
• Package, label, and prepare snacks and meals for classroom distribution.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food storage area.
• Assist with custodial tasks and maintain high-priority areas clean and welcoming.
