Job summary

DREAM, in partnership with Brigaid, is hiring Part-Time Cooks to prepare and serve meals to DREAM students and staff at multiple NYC campuses. You will help maintain a safe, clean kitchen and support a student-centered food service program.

Shifts run 8am to 3:30pm with an estimated hourly rate of $18.00. Campuses include Mott Haven, East Harlem, and Highbridge. This role offers growth opportunities within DREAM’s community-focused programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service or school food service preferred.
• Ability to follow English-language instructions, recipes, and safety procedures.
• Reliability, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients as directed by Brigaid Kitchen Manager.
• Assist with meal assembly, plating, packaging, and serving to students and staff.
• Maintain clean, organized kitchen, storage, and dining areas throughout the shift.
• Follow HACCP, food safety, allergen-awareness, and health department requirements.
• Support opening/closing routines and restock as needed.
• Assist with special meals, events, and other food service activities.
• Communicate supply needs and issues promptly to kitchen leadership.
• Perform related duties to support a high-quality program.
