Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a part-time General Assistant (Cook 1) to support school meals. The role runs 12.5 hours per week across 38 weeks per year, with a 12:00pm–2:30pm shift, Monday to Friday, starting at £13.74 per hour.

No prior experience required as full training will be given. You will receive Basic Food Hygiene and Allergen Awareness training and must be PVG checked due to working with children.

Qualifications

• Experience not required as full training will be provided.
• Basic Food Hygiene and Allergen Awareness training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals.
• Setting up and decanting of dining room.
• Setting up service area.
• Cash handling as and when required.
• Dishwashing and general kitchen duties.
• Clearing down and cleaning kitchens and staff rest areas.
• Carry out electronic paperwork.
