Job summary

Dunlap School District #323 is seeking a part-time Cook to assist in implementing the school meal program. The 3-hour daily schedule, Monday through Friday, offers a stipend of $16.50 per hour and a non-exempt status under the FLSA.

The Cook will perform food preparation duties, maintain sanitary conditions, handle student and staff payments, and participate in annual trainings to ensure compliance with USDA reimbursement requirements and nutrition standards.

Qualifications

• Education level and knowledge sufficient to meet performance requirements of position

Responsibilities

• Performs various duties for food preparation efficiently and timely as assigned by the Head Cook
• Cleans utensils, equipment and storage, food preparation and serving areas daily for the purpose of maintaining sanitary conditions, as assigned by the Head Cook
• Collects payments daily on food items from students and staff for the purpose of completing transactions and/or securing funds
• Attends training at the start of each school year to monitor students' food choices daily for the purpose of meeting mandated meal component requirements and ensuring adequate nutrition for USDA meal reimbursements. Failure to comply could result in loss of reimbursement from the USDA
• Complies with all food safety requirements, including wardrobe, handwashing, and hair net requirements
• Maintains a neat personal appearance and a pleasant demeanor with students, staff and parents
• Exhibits willingness to work in a variety of situations
• Displays professional behavior and language at all times
• Demonstrates a commitment to teamwork
• Additional duties as assigned
