Job summary

Harrison County School District is seeking a part-time Payroll Clerk at the 01 Central Office to administer the district's payroll processing, ensure accuracy, and maintain internal controls.

Under the Assistant Superintendent of Education, you will input payroll data, manage tax forms, deductions, direct deposits, and generate annual statements while complying with state and district regulations.

Qualifications

• Must pass criminal background check and current child abuse registry check per Mississippi law.
• Associates degree desirable; high school graduate minimum with five years’ experience preferred.
• Proficient with Word and Excel; able to type accurately and manage filing.
• Excellent math skills; strong telephone and people skills; able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Inputs and processes payroll data for timely and accurate payments.
• Maintains payroll processing data including taxes, deductions, and direct deposits.
• Prepares and distributes annual tax forms (W-2s) and related reports.
• Develops reporting procedures and internal controls for compliance and accuracy.
• Coordinates with district staff to ensure payroll services run smoothly.
