Job summary

Jefferson Parish Schools in Avondale, LA, is seeking a Custodial Helper for a 4-hour daily shift to assist in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and appearance of the school facilities.

The role involves cleaning halls, walls, and classrooms, following a fixed schedule, and responding to the plant manager and coordinator. Candidates must read and follow service orders and operate cleaning equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write and to comprehend instructions on operation of equipment of all types and on the use of chemicals used in cleaning operation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of halls and entrances.
• Cleans walls and windows.
• Check dressing rooms.
• Cleans classroom units as specified in accordance with working schedule and minimum cleaning schedule specific school needs.
• Be responsive to coordinator, plant manager and/or assistant custodian where appropriate.
• Perform all other duties as required by the plant manager or Coordinator of Maintenance & Custodial Services.
