Job summary

Jefferson Parish Schools at THOMAS JEFFERSON HS ADV STUDIE in Gretna, LA is seeking a Custodial Helper for an 8-hour shift. The role focuses on maintaining safety, cleanliness and appearance of the school facilities, with responsibilities including hallway and entrance upkeep and cleaning classrooms as scheduled.

You will work under the plant manager or coordinator, may require overtime and weekend work, and should be able to read and follow service orders and safety instructions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write and to comprehend instructions on operation of equipment of all types and on the use of chemicals used in cleaning operation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of halls and entrances.
• Cleans walls and windows.
• Check dressing rooms.
• Cleans classroom units as specified in accordance with working schedule and minimum cleaning schedule specific school needs.
• Be responsive to coordinator, plant manager and/or assistant custodian where appropriate.
• Perform all other duties as required by the plant manager or Coordinator of Maintenance & Custodial Services.
