Job summary

Jefferson Parish Schools Haynes Academy for Advanced ST in Metairie, LA, is hiring a Custodial Helper for a 4-hour daily shift, immediately starting. This role supports safety, cleanliness, and appearance of the physical plant, with duties spanning halls, walls, windows, dressing rooms, and classrooms.

The ideal candidate has basic reading/writing ability, is able to follow written instructions, and works under the plant manager or coordinator of maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write and to comprehend instructions on operation of equipment and on the use of chemicals used in cleaning operation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of halls and entrances.
• Clean walls and windows.
• Check dressing rooms.
• Clean classroom units as specified in accordance with working schedule and minimum cleaning schedule specific school needs.
• Be responsive to coordinator, plant manager and/or assistant custodian where appropriate.
• Perform all other duties as required by the plant manager or Coordinator of Maintenance & Custodial Services.
