Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic understanding of food hygiene and willingness to complete ServSafe or food handler training.
Successful completion of diocesan background checks and child protection training (e.g., Virtus/Protecting God’s Children).
Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 25–30 lbs.
Dependable attendance and strong teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Service: Assist with simple food prep, set up serving lines, portion meals, and serve students and staff efficiently.
Kitchen Clean-Up: Wash dishes, sanitize countertops and prep stations, sweep and mop kitchen areas, and clear cafeteria tables between lunch shifts.
Point of Sale Assistance: Assist with operating the lunch line register or scanning student meal cards as needed.
Food Safety Standards: Follow hygiene and sanitation guidelines to ensure food safety in line with health regulations.
Positive School Interaction: Interact warmly with young students, helping create a safe, orderly lunchtime environment.
