Job summary

Fort Wayne Community Schools Nutrition Services is seeking a part-time 5-hour Cafeteria Assistant at Jefferson Middle School in Fort Wayne, IN. You will prepare and serve meals, assist with cashiering, and keep facilities clean according to HACCP standards.

Qualifying candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to perform duties in a fast-paced school cafeteria. New staff may be required to complete probationary steps and comply with district policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow HACCP guidelines and safety procedures.
• Experience in food service or cashiering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and package food items; assemble ingredients and wrap items per procedures and portion control.
• Maintain clean facilities and equipment; operate dishwashers as assigned.
• Prepare entrees, fruits, vegetables, sandwiches and desserts; monitor proper food temperatures.
• Assist with receipt, storage and rotation of food items; help with inventory as directed.
