Richmond City Public Schools is seeking a Food Service Assistant at John Marshall High School. This part-time position offers 5.5 hours per day, 5 days a week, in a warm kitchen environment where meals are prepared and served according to guidelines.

The role requires basic math, reliable daily attendance, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Bilingual Spanish is a plus. This non-contract, 183-day position is non-exempt and located at John Marshall High School.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Six months of food prep/serving experience preferred.
• Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Basic math and reading skills required.
• Ability to operate general kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Bilingual Spanish a plus.

Responsabilités

• Prepare garnishes and serve food items to meet quality standards.
• Follow USDA/state/local guidelines in food service operations.
• Receive, store, and manage food in stockrooms and coolers.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, dining and prep areas.
• Maintain health and safety standards and proper sanitation.
• Wash pots, pans, kettles, and utensils.
• Assist in estimating, ordering, receiving, and stocking food supplies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
