Job summary

First Student, Inc. is hiring part-time School Bus Drivers in Augusta, ME. You will start mornings with pickup and transport students home in the afternoon, with potential hours for field trips and events.

Training is provided, no prior experience required, and you’ll join a nationwide network of drivers. We offer a sign-on bonus of $1,500, an hourly rate of $27.00, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• Very small print indicates training is provided to become a safe driver.
• Experience with student transport not required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student behavior or delays.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
