Job summary

The Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to provide patient care on rotating day and evening shifts within the MVH-Silver Bay Direct Care unit. The role offers a 64-hour biweekly schedule, with day shifts from 7:00am to 3:30pm and evening shifts from 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

Qualified candidates hold a Minnesota RN license in good standing and a current BLS/CPR certification, plus computer proficiency for electronic charting (PointClickCare).

Qualifications

• Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions and in good standing.
• If not licensed in Minnesota, must obtain licensure by date of hire.
• Future RNs within six months of graduating encouraged to apply and may be offered contingent offers.
• Current BLS or CPR certification required by date of hire.
• Effective communication to provide and follow instructions and teach skills to residents.
• Computer skills for electronic charting, specifically PointClickCare.

Responsibilities

• Care for residents by assessing needs, assisting and encouraging social and emotional well-being, and implementing orders.
• Report and interpret observations and resident behaviors.
• Communicate nursing and health care concerns to supervisor.
• Maintain resident charts and records.
• Coordinate activities of the nursing unit to ensure consistency in care delivery.
• Follow health and safety rules to ensure security.
