Job summary

Success Education Colleges (SEC) in California seeks part-time instructors to teach LIVE clinical rotations for Registered and Licensed Vocational Nurses. You will oversee clinical facilities, instruct students, and coordinate labs and pre/post conferences.

The role requires CA licensure and prior teaching experience is preferred. Responsibilities include planning instructional activities, directing data collection, and providing timely feedback.

Qualifications

• RN with Bachelor’s or Master’s in Nursing from an accredited program; minimum five years’ RN experience, plus one year as Clinical Instructor (not required)
• LVN with AA/AS or BA/BS with 2 years experience (any degree)
• Schedule: Mon & Tue or Wed & Thu or Sat & Sun AM or PM
• 16 to 32 hours
• Travel is required
• LVN $45, RN $50

Responsibilities

• Accept complete responsibility for students in the clinical facility
• Teach a course load as assigned, including prep for and instruction of clinical lab
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning
• Clarify daily clinical expectations with students during pre-conference
• Clarify placement and expectations with clinical facility staff
• Assign patients/students to meet clinical objectives and patient needs
• Direct data collection and integration into clinical paperwork; provide resources to ensure critical thinking
• Coordinate daily plan with clinical site to best observe, instruct, and evaluate students
• Direct post-conference to apply theory to clinical experiences; provide opportunities for students to share experiences
• Evaluate student progress and provide weekly feedback with clear improvement objectives
• Provide immediate feedback of clinical performance after observing skills
• Oversee and facilitate laboratory sessions; ensure safety protocols and a supportive learning environment
