Qualifications

• Registered or Licensed Vocational Nurse with CA license.
• Teaching experience preferred but not required.

• Able to carry out classroom, clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities.
• Competent in basic computer applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email.

Responsibilities

• Accept complete responsibility for students in the clinical facility.
• Teach a course load as assigned, including preparation for and instruction of clinical laboratory.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Clarify daily clinical expectations with students during pre-conference.
• Clarify student placement and expectations with clinical facility staff.
• Direct students in data collection and integration into their clinical paperwork; provide resources to ensure critical thinking through the nursing process.
• Coordinate daily plans with clinical site to observe, instruct, and evaluate students.
• Direct post-conferences to apply theory to clinical experiences and discuss learnings.
• Evaluate student progress and provide weekly feedback and clear improvement objectives.
