Job summary

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in assisted living or long-term care preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• At least 6 months experience as an RN.
• Experience caring for seniors or cognitive impairment preferred.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office and web apps.
• EMR experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required with 90 days to obtain if not current.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with residents and families with a caregiver approach.
• Perform clinical duties per state nurse practice act and standards.
• Promote independence by teaching residents and families about conditions, meds, and self-care.
• Monitor resident conditions and respond to changes to ensure comfort and safety.
• Assist care partners with routine nursing tasks as needed.
• Maintain infection prevention practices and administer meds per orders.
• Coordinate holistic care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Document in the EMR accurately and timely.
• Participate in care conferences as requested by Clinical Manager.
