Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Float Pool, days, at Kishwaukee Hospital and Valley West Hospital. The role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care to acutely ill patients while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

A BSN or ADN with BSN plan, IL RN license, and BLS are required; AC LS, PALS/ENPC, TNCC are expected for ER; Pediatric ER requires PALS and TNCC within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN required with plan to obtain BSN within 3 years
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
• Basic Life Support
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with others
• Strong analytic abilities
• ER: ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within 1 year of hire
• Pediatric ER: Pediatric Advanced Life Support and TNCC within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process.
• Interact effectively with patients, families, and health team members.
• Develop and implement an individualized plan, coordinate care and evaluate outcomes.
• Direct care and utilize assistants appropriately.
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians and staff; document plan and communications.
• Participate in governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluate patient responses and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Apply evidence and research findings to practice decisions.
