Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a clinically competent Registered Nurse for the 3S Observation Unit within the Staff Nurse Inpatient role. You will assess, coordinate discharge planning, and ensure safe patient movements between units while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.

The role requires a BSN and IL RN license with BLS, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Qualifications

• BSN required and Illinois RN license current.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, plans and coordinates care.
• Directs care and utilizes involved staff appropriately.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff to create a documented plan focused on outcomes.
• Participates in shared governance and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses and documents progress in health records.
• Uses best available evidence to guide nursing practice.
