Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an inpatient Staff Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care for acutely ill patients. The role emphasizes assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation using the nursing process, with collaboration across the health care team.

The ideal candidate will hold a BSN, current Illinois RN license and BLS certification. ADN with commitment to pursue BSN within three years may be considered. Northwestern Medicine is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• BSN and Illinois RN license required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Commitment to obtain BSN within three years of employment in clinical nurse role for ADN holders.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, assesses patient needs, develops and implements care plans.
• Directs care and oversees nursing staff and assistants.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff to coordinate care.
• Participates in governance, unit projects and documentation of patient responses.
