Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse Inpatient to provide high-quality nursing care for acutely ill patients in a fast-paced hospital unit. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care using the nursing process, while communicating with patients, families and the health team.

The role requires a BSN, IL RN license and BLS with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. ER and pediatric experience are valued, and continued professional development is encouraged within a

Qualifications

• BSN required; ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years.
• Current Illinois RN license and BLS.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate.
• ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year for ER; TNCC for Pediatric ER.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, plans individualized care and evaluates outcome progress.
• Directs care and utilizes assistive personnel appropriately.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents care plans.
• Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions and updates care plan.
• Uses best available evidence to guide nursing decisions.
