Job summary

Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the MVH-Silver Bay facility. You will work rotating day and evening shifts, 7:00am–3:30pm or 3:00pm–11:30pm, with a schedule of at least 64 hours per two weeks and potential for additional hours.

The role involves assessing residents, supporting their social and emotional well-being, and implementing orders and routines, with documentation in electronic charts. Hiring from 11/04/2026 anticipated date.

Qualifications

• Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions and in good standing.
• If not licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse, you must be able to obtain licensure by date of hire.
• Future Registered Nurses who are within six (6) months of graduating and taking their NCLEX-RN are encouraged to apply.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or ability to be certified by date of hire.
• Effective communication sufficient to provide and follow instructions and teach skills to residents.
• Computer skills sufficient to complete electronic charting, specifically in PointClickCare.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for residents by assessing needs and supporting social and emotional well-being.
• Report and interpret observations and resident behaviors to the supervisor.
• Communicate nursing and health care concerns to supervisor.
• Maintain resident charts and records.
• Coordinate nursing unit activities to ensure consistent resident care delivery and unit functions.
