Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure store standards are met while supporting the Store Manager in coaching and supervising staff.

The role requires strong communication skills, physical ability for lifting and movement, and a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications related to activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and record-keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts) and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable; clean and restock bathrooms; sweep/mop floors; take out trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
