Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, support customers, organize merchandise, and help the Store Manager supervise and train Store Associates.

Ideal candidates communicate clearly, work well in a high-energy team, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and maintain a neat, safe store environment. This is a part-time role based at 982 Easton Avenue, Somerset, NJ.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain areas of the store, including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom, to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure staff follow them.
