Job Details

The Pharmacy Technician obtains new patient’s clinical and prescription plan coverage information, reviews new prescriptions, and/or prescription updates. This position is categorized as compliance critical and requires responsibility for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate, and regulatory requirements.

Pharmacy Hours of Operation:

Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Closed Weekends & Holidays

Responsibilities:

• Creating patient profiles in the pharmacy information system.
• Entering prescription plan details for processing and adjudication.
• Entering all new patient prescription information.
• Addressing insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues by communicating with insurance providers, patients, and pharmacists.
• Participating in achieving pharmacy business goals and metrics.
• Preparing medications for pharmacist review.
• Generating inventory reports for procurement.
• Managing inventory stock levels.
• Handling inbound calls and triaging them appropriately.
• Reviewing and managing prescription claims for reimbursement accuracy.
• Supporting pharmacists with patient therapeutic consultations.
• Resolving plan and adjudication issues with Pharmacy Benefit Managers.

Education:

Typically requires a minimum of two years of relevant ambulatory pharmacy experience; a bachelor's degree is preferred. A pharmacy technician certification from a recognized organization such as PTCB or equivalent is required. State certification is acceptable if it meets or exceeds national standards.
