Job Details

The Pharmacy Technician obtains new patient's clinical and prescription plan coverage information, reviews new prescriptions, and/or prescription. This position is categorized as compliance critical and requires responsibility for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate, and regulatory requirements.

1205 Broadway, Lorain, OH 44052

Pharmacy Hours of Operation:

Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Closed on weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

1. Create a patient profile in the pharmacy information system.
2. Enter necessary prescription plan information for processing and adjudicating prescriptions.
3. Enter all new patient prescription information into the system.
4. Address insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues by communicating with insurance providers, patients, and pharmacists.
5. Participate in achieving business goals and metrics for the Ambulatory Pharmacy.
6. Retrieve and prepare medication for pharmacist review and verification.
7. Prepare inventory reports for pharmacist review.
8. Manage inventory, including submitting, receiving, and stocking medications.
9. Answer inbound calls and triage calls appropriately.
10. Review and handle adjudicated prescription claims for reimbursement and financial accuracy.
11. Assist pharmacists with therapeutic consultations.
12. Resolve plan and patient-specific adjudication issues with Pharmacy Benefit Managers.

Education:

Typically requires at least two years of ambulatory pharmacy experience; a bachelor's degree is preferred. Certification from a national organization such as PTCB or an equivalent is required. State certification is acceptable if it meets or exceeds national standards.
