Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy per state of employment requirements.
• Must obtain Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist in preparation and distribution of medications.
• Select, prepare, and label medications for patients, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assist with medication distribution tasks and inventory control.
• Screen calls and route using proper telephone etiquette; data entry and insurance verification as needed.
• Perform nonsterile compounding and sterile IV admixture where applicable.
• Complete documentation for controlled substances; ensure proper storage and waste procedures.
• Train pharmacy technicians and extenders as applicable; follow policies and workflows.
• Operate within regulatory standards and support quality initiatives.
