Job summary

Family Dollar in Vanceboro, NC is seeking a Customer Service Associate to help customers and maintain a clean, welcoming store environment.

You will assist customers with questions and recommendations, process transactions at the cash register, stock shelves, unload trucks, and keep areas neat and safe. You’ll work with leadership to provide friendly, professional service.

This part-time role offers opportunities to grow with a national retailer and requires strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in customer service in retail or similar environment preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned*.
