Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC in New Bern, NC is hiring for a part-time retail associate to assist customers, handle sales at the register, and keep the store clean and stocked. You will help unload trucks, restock merchandise, and maintain a safe, friendly environment for customers and staff.

The role requires ability to lift 30–50 lbs, stand for long periods, and follow store procedures. Prior retail or service experience is highly preferred and a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working the assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help unload trucks; stock replenishment per productivity standards.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Keep store clean, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
