Job summary

Tidewater Community College seeks a part-time Respiratory Therapy Adjunct to teach courses in Virginia Beach. Courses may be delivered in person, remotely via Zoom, or online, with flexible scheduling to cover various student backgrounds and experiences.

The adjunct will plan, deliver, and assess coursework, provide timely feedback, and maintain regular office hours to support student mastery of course learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in respiratory therapy or related degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Two or more years of occupational experience
• Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credentials and licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner through the Virginia Board of Medicine.
• Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format

Responsibilities

• Create a learning environment that facilitates knowledge and skill acquisition in a discipline and/or program.
• Align course activities with student learning outcomes and employ active learning strategies with appropriate technology.
• Deliver instruction in support of stated learning outcomes and assess student learning with timely feedback.
• Schedule may include day, evening and/or weekend courses as assigned.
• Hold at least 1 office hour per week for each course assigned.
