Job summary

Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach is seeking an English as a Second Language Adjunct to teach courses for credit on a part-time basis. Instructors may teach in person or via Zoom, with courses that reflect program outcomes and student needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in ESL TESOL.
• Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format.

Responsibilities

• Create a learning environment that facilitates students’ acquisition of knowledge and skills in a discipline and/or program.
• Align course activities with student learning outcomes and employ active learning strategies and supporting materials.
• Deliver instruction in classroom, Zoom, or online settings and provide prompt feedback on learning outcomes.
• Engage students outside of class via office hours and provide timely feedback on assignments.
• Hold at least 1 office hour per week for each course assigned.
