Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College in South Bend is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for the Respiratory Therapy program. This part-time role involves delivering classes, using technology to enhance learning, and maintaining course materials and student records.

Responsibilities include engaging students, upholding safety procedures, and collaborating with staff to support retention and success. Prior RRT credentials and Indiana RTP licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Possesses an earned associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Academic preparation appropriate to the course(s) being taught.
• Is a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Holds an Indiana-licensed Respiratory Therapy Practitioner (RTP).
• Has four years direct experience in Respiratory Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials; maintains accurate student records and grades.
• Engages with students in meaningful ways to impact learning and promote a positive Ivy Tech experience.
• Interacts with students and co-workers professionally and in accordance with College policies.
• Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and learning environments.
• Provides academic coaching and monitoring to assigned student advisees in partnership with academic advising staff.
• Monitors and documents student performance; initiates interventions and refers to college resources as needed.
• Maintains posted office hours and student engagement hours per campus policy.
• Promotes student recruitment, retention, and success through outreach via calls and digital tools.
